Just wanted to say thank you for all your help on Friday! We had a wonderful trip!

 

The weather was excellent & so was the Gran Caribe Real Resort & Spa - All Inclusive Deluxe Junior Suite Oceanview. The room was perfect & really clean! We had a view of the ocean, lagoon & pool. It was a strange all inclusive though. We felt very obligated to tip for everything! The person who stocks the beer in the fridge in the room wouldn't leave extra cerveza (beer) unless we left $. Might want to make a note of that if you book this hotel for one of your other clients.

 

The food wasn't very good unless you ate at Maria's. Make sure you tell them to order a flaming coffee! It was awesome to see it being made. The servers on the beach didn't come back to you for refills unless you tipped the first time. Oh, & to get one of the canopy beds on the beach, you needed to beat the crowd & get to it by 6:00am or you were out of luck. Overall the trip was really awesome! Just wanted to give you tidbits for future reference. Thanks again for everything! You can keep an eye out for a cruise next year for me.

A little late but we wanted to say that we had a very good experience on the Peru trip with Globus.  Well worth it and a great experience.  Also one of the best groups we have every traveled with.

 

We would recommend it to others with one caveat.  It is not a tour for "couch potatoes."  While one does not have to be in shape to run marathons, this tour is pretty active and requires being able to be fairly decent physical condition.  Quite a bit of walking and climbing and a couple of days at 11,500 feet.  Other than that--great tour with incredible scenery!

Mexico was breathtaking.  The Occidential Grand Xcaret was wonderful.  I think we used almost every part of the resort and then we snorkled in 2 places, motor scootered in the water, sail swing from the boat, parasailed, swam with the dolphins, floated down the water at Xcaret Park, shopped in Playa Del Carmen, swam in the Gulf, saw all the shows at the resort and at Xcaret Park.  We were stopped on the road going back to the airport because of a traffic jam that was caused by a bank robbery, they were searching all the cars, but, let us go.    (-:   

 

But, we really did relax a lot - thanks for your help

The BAD news:

 

We did not get the ground floor room that Ellen asked for.

 

The GOOD news:

 

We were in room 619 which had a great view of the paradise pool and we were much better off in the 2nd floor room. It had a great balcony to sit on and gaze out at the view. In my opinion the first floor did not have the same view because of all the vegetation.

 

I had read some horrible reviews of the Sandals Halcyon, and I must say I do not understand how anyone could not like this place. I had heard that during our stay that they were over booked and were giving "upgrades" to the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. I would not have liked that at all, the Sandals Grande St. Lucian is a very nice place but we really liked the size of the Sandals Halcyon.

We got home from our trip to St. Lucia.  Absolutely beautiful!  Cannot put into words how gorgeous it was. We also took a day and went to the island of Martinique.  AND, we met so very many nice couples that we’re e-mailing now from our home to their homes.

 

FYI, I thought we had the prettiest and most relaxed hotel (Sandals Halcyon).  The Sandals Grande St. Lucian had the most beautiful beach.  Sandals Regency St. Lucia had the prettiest entranceway, but I didn’t really like it as well.  It was way too big and way too hilly for us!!!

I just wanted to let you know that the trip was FABULOUS!!!!  Thanks for all of your help and suggestions about going to Sandals Grande St. Lucian (it was great and not stuffy at all) and for the tip on the helicopter transfer.  That helicopter ride was a great way to wrap up a week in paradise!  We had such a wonderful time that we can’t wait to return to Sandals. 

 

This was Marc’s first trip to the Caribbean or on a “real vacation” for that matter.  It was so much fun to watch as he took in all the glory of our surroundings and our resort.  We did a couple of things that I would HIGHLY recommend to any of your other customers going to St. Lucia:

 

• Full Day “Adventure Cruise” to Suffriere.  Just the boat ride alone was worth the money but on top of that you get a trip to the volcano, the rain forest, lunch in the town of Suffriere, and snorkeling.

 

• Visit to Pigeon Island Park – it’s literally a 2 minute walk from the resort.  It costs $5 entrance fee for the entire day.  The hike up to the fort and the other peak is fun and the views are spectacular!

Thanks for the phone call.  It was nice of you to check in.  I wasn't expecting that!

 

Ixtapa was wonderful.  It was warm, sunny, and relaxing.  Las Brisas was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed.  The patio with the hammock and table were really nice - especially at sunset.  Our first room had a really lousy view with a big tree blocking everything.  I have never seen the ocean - any ocean before, so my boyfriend asked for a different room.  The hotel staff were great and we were moved to a new room with a terrific view.

 

Adrian, the person at the hotel associated with Funjet was also terrific.  He deserves tons of praise for making us feel welcome and taking care of everyone so well.  He was very knowledgeable and really great to talk to.  He offered much good and useful information.  I would definitely go back!

 

The only bad part was the plane.  The seats were very cramped and it seemed to be the smallest plane - seating wise - I've ever been in.  I tried to upgrade to first class for the flight back.  I could understand if it simply wasn't available, but AeroMexico wasn't able to provide any information to me or Adrian.  Other than that I really enjoyed my vacation.  Too bad it's back to reality.

Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful wedding in St. Lucia that Tammy and John had.  Jim and I really liked the resort.  We had a great time.  The staff there really tried to help Jennifer not feel like the fifth wheel.  We went on the Party Cruise and the staff got her up and dancing.  They had her be part of the talent show one night.  Another guest looked after her walking her back to her room late from the activities.

 

We hired the steel band to play at the wedding.  It added such a nice touch.  The butlers treated Tammy and John like royalty.  It was just super!  Thanks again so much for all of your help. It truly was a wedding to remember.

Hello.  A little feedback on our trip.  Resort was in excellent condition (Sandals Montego Bay).  Pool and grounds cleaned daily.  Beach is quite small which really didn't affect us since we are more pool people. 

 

Most people were quite friendly; bartender "Troy" was great.  Concierge is the only way to go, would highly recommend this.  Also, our room category was great.  We were in the Kensington block.  Rooms were newer looking and clean.  We were on the ground level which was about 15' from the pool, great for sun bathing and being able to go to room for drinks or restroom.

 

Rarely had a problem getting drinks or service.  They were obviously short on glasses and ashtrays.  The bartenders basically had to clean your glass every time you wanted a new drink.  They never had clean glasses in reserve.  One night we went to the night club and they had (6) small rock glass, (6) large rock glasses and (6) plastic glasses for beer.  The biggest wait was for dirty glasses to be picked up and returned to the bar so they could be cleaned for your next round of drinks.  Overall, a very good experience.  Airport is next to third world but we expected that.  Food is good and readily available.  Buffets for breakfast, lunch and beach parties were almost too good with too many choices.  But no complaints here.

What a trip, we had a great time and just fell in love with Austria, we will be going back next summer, maybe fly to Rome and drive to Salzburg... will definitely get a faster car next time, 4 cylinder diesel did not satisfy our need for speed...the boys kept saying "Dad go faster".

 

I did not care for the last hotel at all (Paris). 3 stars was a stretch, no air conditioning, no lift, noisy, needless to say we were not happy with this one. The hotel in Munich was okay, again no a/c and noisy, I was a little upset with the lady at the bar , she told us the kitchen was closed and within 15 minutes another couple came in and she was serving them breads and cheeses..., I know it's a petty little thing but it made me mad!

 

You may want to make a note for future summer travelers ... air conditioning or not...

 

On the bright side we loved the arrangements, the train ride from London to Paris was one we will never forget, great people and the service was excellent, we got a buzz on that train ride. We did end up staying at a hotel that night next to the train station, it was 85 euro's and worth it, nothing fancy but a bed and a shower, finding the train station the next morning was a challenge, there are some weird people out at 6:00 am... we did all of the subways and buses in London, Paris and Munich, it was the only way to get around. The hop on hop off was a smart way of seeing London, we did 12 hrs on Sunday in London. Found some great pubs near the hotel and a few restaurants in the alley... we liked London, but 3 days was plenty, Munich was nice, the people were down to earth and the food was real good , beers too!!

 

We will sit down someday and go over the trip.

Our honeymoon was wonderful.  Sandals Grande Ocho Rios is a beautiful resort and the Jamaicans are extremely friendly and helpful.  It was a perfect honeymoon - even better than we hoped it would be.  We spent half our time there thinking about when we could go back and what we would do next time.

Just a note to let you know our "tickets" were at the airport when we checked in and there was no need to use the faxed ones.  Also, we ended up at the Sosua Bay Hotel (since we were booked on the Apple Vacations “Square Deal”), and it is the best place we've EVER stayed at except SECRETS.  That is a VERY HIGH recommendation, indeed.

Have to tell you, Lisa, that Bob and I absolutely loved our week at El Dorado Resort and Spa May 17-24th.

 

The resort was immaculate, the food was very good, and the staff was kind and attentive.  Many all inclusive hotels seem to water the drinks; not so at El Dorado.  Every drink we tried was tasty and strong.  Likewise, if we had wanted shrimp every night of our stay, that was an option.

 

Usually, we try to go to a different location with every trip we make, but the charm of El Dorado calls us and we are all but sure that we will go back there for our next vacation.  Hopefully, the gods of college tuition fees will show us some mercy and we'll be able to make that trip back next year.

 

Part of the beach is rocky and part is sandy.  We loved that aspect because it provided shelter for literally thousands of beautiful fish.  We saw fish at El Dorado that we have never seen any where else in Mexico.  Peacocks wander the grounds, but because of the location and types of gardens, there were also many other beautiful birds all about.  We loved it!
