French Polynesia is Open To US travelers For The Summer

Suppose you have long dreamt of spending your 2021 summer on the picturesque islands of French Polynesia. In that case, that dream is about to become a reality!

The Islands announced the opening of its borders to travelers arriving from the United States on May 1.

This group of pacific islands includes famous holiday spots like Tahiti and Bora Bora. They will welcome travelers who have been in the US for nothing short of 30 days before departure.

· Travel Requirements

Travelers planning on spending the summer in either Tahiti or Bora Bora are expected to fill out a mandatory ETIS health declaration form. They are expected to do this before they board their flight to the French Polynesia islands.

Each adult is entitled to one form, but minors are to be included in the forms of their parents or guardians. Gate agents or custom agents will request and collect these forms before departure at the airport.

· Vaccination Status Requirements

If you have been vaccinated, you will be required to carry an official certification such as the CDC card to prove this.

Regardless of vaccination or immunity status, all travelers are expected to submit negative PCR test results taken three days before landing on the Islands and take a second PCR test on the fourth day after arrival. Antigen tests will also be required upon arrival

US travelers who have completed vaccination and those with an authenticated proof of immunity documented by a serology test will not be subjected to the 10-day quarantine, but unvaccinated travelers will be quarantined for ten days.

A rapid testing facility located inside the airport will be available for travelers going back to the US.

· What Is Open Right Now?

Most businesses, game centers, salons, sports arenas, bars, restaurants, etc., are open but with strict adherence to the local curfews and social distancing rules.

Nightclubs and most outdoor markets remain closed, with restaurants limited to a total of six persons to a table. With the exemption of kids under 11, Masks are mandatory in all public places across the islands.
